The revolution of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him): causes and motives
There is no doubt that everyone who knows the life of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) knows that his role in serving Islam began during his life. As a child, he participated in the emerging Islamic movement and played an important role during the reign of the Commander of the Faithful, his father Ali (peace be upon him), and participated in the three wars (Jamal Jamal, Jamal Jamal). . Safin and Jang Naharwan) who fought his father with the rest of his loyal comrades and followers.
When his brother Al-Hassan (peace be upon him) became an imam, no matter what he said or did, he obeyed him and followed his example. Then, with the death of his brother, his role entered a new phase. Since the personality of each Imam of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon him) is determined by the social and political circumstances of his time, the Imam devised a new way to determine the direction of the Islamic movement. .
Winds of revolution or the Islamic movement:
When Muawiyah died in the middle of the month of Rajab in the year 60 AH and his son Yazid took over the command of his guardians to be loyal to the people, especially Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), the wave of rejection and opposition began. The policy of treachery and injustice was implemented, and the Imam decided to carry out his legal duties as a lawful imam and leader of the Islamic nation, responsible for guarding the divine message.
Imam Hussain, peace be upon him, entered the grave of his grandfather, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said this supplication:
I am your Prophet Muhammad's son and daughter, and I know this tomb as well as you do, O Allah." "O Allah, bless what is good and forbid what is evil." I give my everything to this tomb and those within to choose for me what is right in your eyes and the will of your Prophet, for I would wish it.
Therefore, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) swore to defend this message, whatever the cost, as long as it pleases God.
Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) met his relatives and friends and informed them of his intention to go to Mecca. He met with strong opposition from those who tried to dissuade him, either because they feared he would be killed or because they did not dare follow him. But his insistence on defending the truth did not waver in the face of such opposition or threat.
He announced his first revolutionary message, which he wrote in the form of a will to his brother Muhammad ibn al-Hanafiyya:
I did not go out because of injustice and corruption, but I went out to reform the nation of my grandfather (the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace). Follow my father's path, Big Daddy.
This immortal message was the official declaration of his revolution.
Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) traveled to Mecca and stayed there in the house of Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib, and believers from Mecca and outside it visited him and pledged allegiance to him. News of the political rebellion in Kufa reached Mecca, and the leaders of the city wrote a letter declaring their opposition to the rule of the Umayyads and saying that they would not accept a ruler other than Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). After this message, many other messages followed asking the Imam to come to his city to assume his rule as the Imam of the Believers (peace be upon him).
On the way to the martyrdom of Akbar (Zeeb Azim):
Yazid bin Muawiyah was so worried that he decided to send an army led by Amr bin Saad bin Al-Aas to kill the Imam wherever he found him at any cost. When Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) heard that Yazid's army was advancing towards Mecca, he feared that they would trample the holy city, so he decided to go to Kufa, even though they knew what would happen to them.
Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and his companions left for Iraq. Even though he was sure he would be killed. But he believed that the true victory of God's message would come from his testimony, because he was not one to resist injustice. They knew that the nation would not wake up without this great shock. This shock must have been the martyrdom of him and his family (peace be upon them) who were with him all the way.
Causes of the revolution or Islamic movement:
Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) did not have the strength necessary to win. He did not even trust those who wrote to him from Kufa. Because he announced his revolution before he received the letters and their representatives. Hejaz also did not support him enough to stand against the Umayyads. So he decided to go to Iraq just to stop the bloodshed in Mecca. Furthermore, he was aware that he was doomed to die. However, he left.
So why did he insist? Why did he declare his revolution?
To answer this question, you must know the following facts:
The first:
In this case, it would not be strange for many Muslim sheikhs to try to persuade Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) not to confront Yazid, even though they witnessed the corruption of the Umayyads, and I also felt that this was the work of the Imam. He is. He had the duty and the right to confront him. In this way, Abdullah bin Omar bin Al-Khattab, Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr and some members of his family approached him. These are some manifestations of the lack of a fighting spirit by most Muslim leaders.
In the case of ordinary people, these negative feelings are widespread to an alarming extent. For example, when the people of Kufa were subjected to a wave of terror led by Ubayd Allah bin Ziyad, and at the same time they were deceived by promises of wealth and power, they broke all their promises and oaths. These factors were among the main reasons that led to the declaration of the revolution. The imams wanted to shake the consciences of the dead because they knew that there was no reason to motivate people, inspire them and promote the morals of speech and speech.
The second:
With these thunderous words, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) made it clear that the Umayyads, who deviated from the true Islamic path, did not deserve to be ruled, and he explained to the nation the foundations of this path, which is an Islamic trait that has taken root. In the imam himself. And make him worthy of the imam of the nation. Thus, clarifying the Islamic concept of the Imamate and revealing the falsity of the Umayyad claim were among the main reasons for declaring the Imam’s revolution.
The third:
These are the basic reasons that gave Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and his companions the right to declare a victorious revolution that demolished Islam and made future generations steadfast in wars of defense and holy jihad.
The symbol of peace and justice, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), taught us how important it is to seek the truth, even if we think it is not in our best interest. Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) always wanted to guide people, Muslims and non-Muslims, enemies and friends, to the path that leads to God Almighty. He taught us that we are the ones who should follow his path and bring peace to society and become Muslims in search of freedom. Whoever hears the tragedy of Karbala realizes that Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) saved the world of true Islam and made everyone believe that life is only about thinking and enjoying goodness and goodness and there is nothing to worry about. As we all know that Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and his family went through a difficult journey, but after all these years, everyone remembers him and the values he stood for. The day of Ashura represents the victory of blood over the sword.
